Position: Senior Web Graphic Designer
Gaslight Media is seeking a Senior Web Graphic Designer that has a passion for staying on top of new trends and a design style that is forward-thinking. The perfect candidate will have a 'can-do' attitude and willingness to step out of their comfort zone to get the job done. Responsibilities will include interacting with the Web development team to design and create Web sites and print material (print ads, sell sheets/marketing material) on behalf of our clients and the company.
You will need to be adept at:
- Developing design concepts, specs and mock-ups based on briefs and creative direction
- Applying graphic design principles including layout, typography, and color theory
- In depth competency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop
- Organizing your design files with properly named and formatted layers;
- Understanding the limitations and possibilities of CSS and Web typography and marking up your designs accordingly.
The skills and qualities you have:
- Preferably 3+ years experience in a similar role
- Design style/sensibilities must be current and/or forward-thinking
- Knowledge of standards and best practices for online media, including user interface, user experience design and information architecture as well as impressive samples of work in the online world
- Ability to understand and respect device centric user experience and the need for varying visual applications based on the device (laptop, mobile, tablet)
- CSS/HTML development experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Can work both independently and in a group, without daily management
- Have excellent communication skills
- Desire to learn with an interest in career advancement and a passion for staying on top of new trends and technologies
- Can-do attitude and willingness to step out of your comfort zone to get the job done
