Pellston, MI – As part of a recent $8.4 million upgrade of facilities at the Pellston Regional Airport, in Emmet County, Michigan, Gaslight Media developed, installed and now maintains a wide range of broadband services throughout the terminal and administration buildings, including wireless hot spots and kiosks with Internet access and RSS feed from Northwest Airlines. Dedicated T-1 connections provide the Internet bandwidth enabling the airport’s Business Center and the wireless access units throughout. These same T-1 connections also feed airport security camera images back to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Department in Petoskey, Michigan. The kiosk systems in the terminal give passengers and visitors the ability to check the status of arriving and departing flights, and search for local accommodations, ground transportation, restaurants and a variety of other services. At the kiosks, driving instructions can be printed and phone calls made directly to businesses listed in the kiosk directories. A parallel Website allows travelers and visitors to check facilities and amenities available at the airport, as well find information to assist with business and vacation travel planning.
