Gaslight Media Owner, Charles Scott, Appointed to the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum Board of Directors.

February 7, 2011 - Petoskey, Michigan - Gaslight Media Owner Charles (Chuck) Scott, has been appointed to the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum Board of Directors. In recent years, Chuck has been actively involved aboard the Mackinaw as part of an Amateur Radio group that communicates regularly from the ship and helps with maintaining communications and navigation systems. He brings a love for boating, his passion for the ship, and his experience with technology to the Board .
In 1994, Chuck was a partner in building Freeway Internet Services, and was instrumental in building much of the initial Internet connectivity in rural areas of Northern Michigan. Chuck started Gaslight Media in Petoskey in 1998. Gaslight Media provides advanced Web development and hosting services to Michigan's travel and tourism industry including many visitor bureaus, travel associations, chambers of commerce, and businesses. Gaslight Media has also been instrumental in helping the museum establish its Web presence at www.themackinaw.org.
The Museum features the USCGC Mackinaw WAGB-83 and the important historical and present day contributions of the US Coast Guard on the Great Lakes. The Museum presents the unique maritime history, economy and ecology of the Straits of Mackinac, the Great Lakes and the State of Michigan through engaging and entertaining educational programming and interpretive exhibits.
